The Pier Bar & Grill
Tiffany and Neil fell in love with the bar’s neighborhood, atmosphere and location back in 2015 when they moved to Bismarck. They became the owners back in October of 2016.
As the only Bar & Grill in Bismarck located right on the Southport Bay Marina, this gem has a summer patio with docks and a fuel station for your boat while you enjoy food and drinks. The Fuel station is open 11 am – 9 pm daily in season. According to most people, it boasts the best Martinis in town Pier-iod! Whether you’re looking for dinner for two, a place to meet friends after work, or if you need party reservations in their spacious upstairs, they have what you need.
Did you know the Lewis and Clark Expedition passed through the area in 1804–05? A few years later in 1872 Camp Greeley (later Camp Hancock; now a state historic site), a military post, was established there to protect crews working on the Northern Pacific Railway.
Fast forward to 1889, Bismarck became the capital of the northern state. It has grown steadily and has become the region’s business, trade, transportation, education, and health care center. Oil, gas, and coal production and distribution are major factors in the city’s economy, as is the refinery located in nearby Mandan. Government, business services, insurance, dairy processing, and the manufacturing of farm and construction equipment are also important to the area. Bismarck’s agricultural development includes raising livestock and the production of wheat, hay, and oats.
Although Bismarck is famous for many things, The Pier Bar and Grill is famous for its amazing marina views and delectable dishes! In the fall it features Dinner specials on Friday and Saturday nights. Stop in and see for yourself what all the fuss is about!
My family and I went there on the Saturday of Memorial Weekend for lunch. we arrived at 11:30 am and they informed us that the kitchen wasn’t open until noon due to an employee not showing up. We had no issues with it and decided to get a few drinks before it opened for food. Our waitress was amazing and when the kitchen opened the food came out very quickly. Before we left the manager came out and apologized for the delay and gave us a gift card for our troubles. This was a very appreciated but unnecessary gesture. We will be going back for sure! Great food and service! Highly recommended!
Owners are so very nice and friendly. They happily greet you when you are there. The food is great and service wonderful. Nice casual dining. Great place to meet up with friends.
Great place to eat on the River!
Salmon and vegetables were delicious, sides of potato salad and garden salad were on point. S’more dessert was excellent and the plate was scraped clean literally!! Views were beautiful!!
I dont get to Bismarck very often…coming from our ranch in SW nd, but when I do I love stopping at The Pier!!! Everytime I stop in, whoever’s working makes me feel so welcome and like they’ve known me forever! Last time I was there Tiffany was working and she was awesome! Just down to earth, funny and very accommodating! 5 star
Great place to be.
Great place to be. Feels like home. Great dinner tonight (NY strip). So much flavor. Glad to call the Pier our “place to go when going out.”
Pretty relaxing place to grab a drink or snack. There are plenty of tv’s inside to watch your favorite sports, an outdoor patio to enjoy the weather and a landing dock for boaters… Haven’t tried the food but the menu looks pretty good. Being new to the area, I could see this as being a regular in my rotation of places to relax on a weekend afternoon.
